OSB-VUB collaborates with an extensive network of partner associations that are committed to strengthening science, humanism and freethinking. These partner associations can be divided into three categories: regional departments, faculty associations and freethinking sister associations. Together they form a network that supports and strengthens our mission.
Regional branches
The regional branches have their roots in the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and focus on organising local activities such as lectures, debates and events. They are generally directly managed by OSB-VUB and receive central support, while responding to the specific needs of their local community.
Faculty associations
Faculty associations are linked to specific faculties or academic disciplines of the VUB. They usually operate completely autonomously and focus on scientific or educational initiatives within their field. Thanks to their academic background, they bring depth and expertise to the range of activities and projects.
Liberal sister associations
OSB-VUB also collaborates with various liberal sister associations, which are committed to promoting liberal values and humanist principles in society. These associations, including the Humanistisch Verbond, deMens.nu and Mensen & Wetenschap, share a common vision of a humane, inclusive and liberal society. They offer a wide range of activities, ranging from lectures and debates to scientific and cultural events, and regularly collaborate with OSB-VUB on joint projects.
This collaboration between regional departments, faculty associations and liberal sister associations creates a powerful network that makes science and liberalism accessible to a broad audience. Their shared roots at the VUB and dedication to humanistic values form the basis for a fruitful collaboration.
